Harbor Light Choir

The Salvation Army's Harbor Light Choir is comprised of 10 to 14 current and former substance abuse program participants who have demonstrated success and initiative toward their recovery.  These men make a one-year commitment to perform at various venues with the choir as a part of their work therapy.  The Choir represents The Salvation Army as ambassadors of hope throughout Houston and internationally, performing concerts annually.  The choir has performed as far away as Scotland and England.

The choir's joy in sharing their own style of inspirational music is what makes them so popular today.  Though the Choir has performed with many well-known musical artists, their true appreciation is having the opportunity to spread the sounds of hope, joy and personal testimonials to the people of Houston.  Their songs ignite hope, faith, and love in the hearts of everyone that listens to their performances.

Past Performances have included:

  • Billie Jean King/Elton John Tennis Tournament
  • Houston Astros, Comets and Aeros games.
  • Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure"
  • Night of 1,000 Lights with Ray Charles
  • Tour of Scotland and England
  • Dedication of Holocaust Museum
  • Stage performance with Carole King singing "You've Got a Friend"
  • Houston Ballet Guild Nutcracker Market
