Houston Area Command

Annual Giving Manager – FT

Primary FunctionsResponsible for development, management and implementation of the annual giving program including: direct mail, online giving, phone campaign, sustaining donor campaign and tribute campaign.  Directs and leads the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the development database; monitors, tracks, and maintains up-to-date donor records and projects; prepares routine and special donor activity reports; supervises data entry clerk and seasonal staff.

Family Residence

Cook – FT

Primary FunctionsPrepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment and appliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.

Housing Monitor – PT

Primary FunctionsAssists residents staying in the Family Residence overnight; performs client intake procedures and prepares client intake records; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that facility is maintained in a neat and proper order.

Driver – PT

Primary FunctionsDrives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities, as well as picking up donations

Program Director – PT

Primary Functions: Assists in facilitating and monitoring activities of the Boys and Girls Club; supervises and coaches sporting events; assists in maintaining the Boys and Girls Club facilities, equipment, and grounds.

Senior Citizens Program Coordinator/Substitute Driver – PT

Primary FunctionsPlans, coordinates, supervises and implements a Senior Citizens Program including recreational, entertaining, educational,  craft, and exercise activities; supervises employees and volunteers and ensures compliance with program policies and procedures; prepares statistical reports; may transports seniors to and from programs; may assist in preparing/serving meals.

Sally’s House

Receptionist – FT

Primary Functions Answers the telephone in a courteous manner and directs calls to the appropriate destination; records accurate and complete messages when necessary; receives and receipts deliveries and donations; greets and announces visitors and clients; provides general information about The Salvation Army's operations and services; performs routine clerical work such as typing and filing; assures that all potential clients have completed the Sally’s House application correctly and provide proper identification, Social Security Card and the HUD required referral letter before being interviewed by the Director and/or Caseworker Supervisor.
