Runway show at runaway prices

At The Salvation Army’s upcoming Reflections on Style Boutique and Runway Show the name brands are familiar while the prices are unheard of

For a few hundred dollars a local fashionista on a budget could walk away with a handful or two of couture frocks and accessories from the likes of Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, and many more at The Salvation Army’s upcoming Reflections on Style Boutique and Runway Show scheduled for April 13, 2010 at the prestigious River Oaks Country Club here in Houston.

This very fashionable benefit is put together each year by The Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary and because of the extraordinarily low prices tickets always sell fast.  While there is no guarantee you will walk away with the exact designer items you’ve been hunting for, those in the know (especially those who have been waiting since last year for this year’s fashion show) know that all of the gently worn items on sale are worth every penny of their significantly reduced price tags.

“So many wonderful garments will be on sale for very reasonable prices, and all the money raised will help The Salvation Army better serve our community,” says Major Sandra Flanagan, Area Commander and Coordinator of Women’s Ministries for The Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command.  “We have been working very hard to make sure this year’s runway show is a major success.  It is going to be great!”

Funds raised by the Boutique and Runway Show are used by the Women’s Auxiliary to support various general operations and projects coordinated by the local Salvation Army.  In the past these projects have included improvements to the nonprofit’s Boys & Girls Clubs facilities, support for the women going through drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs at Sally’s House, generous monetary gifts for countless social service efforts for the community at large, as well as a host of other charitable endeavors.

Members of The Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary are among Houston’s most notable philanthropists and leaders.  The gently used garments and accessories that will be on sale on April 13, 2010 at the River Oaks Country Club have all been donated to The Salvation Army.

“The only difference between this fashion show and the rest are the prices,” adds Vicki West, president of The Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary.  “Other than that, all the designers and quality are the same.”

Due to unprecedented demand, we regret there are no longer any reservations available.
