Homeless Shelter Facilities
Providing a safe haven to those without one, The Salvation Army has five transitional living and shelter facilities where we meet the basic needs of homeless men, women and families.
Upward Bound & College Assistance
At the Boys and Girls Club at Sharpstown High School, hundreds of first generation, low-income families are seeing a member of their family graduate from high school and go on to college for the very first time.
Be it in the privacy of their own homes, at one of our six Corps/Community Centers, or at one of our two independent-living, residential apartment-buildings for senior citizens, the elderly in our community have found a safe haven at The Salvation Army.
Youth Programs and Boys & Girls Club
At our six Corps/Community Centers throughout the region children are offered a safe environment in which to explore and maximize their potential after school and during the summer.
Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation
When an individual makes the decision to change their life and overcome their drug and/or alcohol addiction, many have found the faith-based rehabilitation offered by The Salvation Army a true salvation.
In trying times many turn to The Salvation Army for assistance in paying their utility bills and rent.
Angel Tree Program
Our Angel Tree Program is one of the largest and longest-standing holiday gift-giving initiatives in the local region.
Disaster Relief & Emergency Response
When a natural disaster or sudden catastrophe causes social and personal chaos, The Salvation Army moves into action - often minutes after the tragedy has occurred - to meet the needs of the victims.
Red Kettle Campaign
The Red Kettle Campaign is our annual fundraiser. Through the support received by the community, we are able to continue providing services in the greater Houston area all year round.
The traditional red kettle is an integral part of the Christmas scene, with millions of dollars donated each year to aid needy families, seniors, and the homeless, in keeping with the spirit of the season.
