Christmas Assistance

Bringing Joy to Those in Need

The holidays can be an especially difficult time for people struggling to make ends meet. The Salvation Army of Greater Houston helps by providing hot meals, gifts, clothing, toys and much more during the holiday season.

Angel Tree Program

Families who qualify can register children and senior citizens in the “Angel Tree” program, where they will receive presents days before Christmas.

To learn how you can register a child or senior citizen, click here.

Corporate Angel Tree: Groups –i.e. companies, churches, schools- are invited to “adopt” families by hosting an Angel Tree at their location. Interested groups must register by mid-October to participate.

To become a Corporate Angel Tree Partner, click here.

Mall Angel Tree: At participating malls, shoppers can adopt one of these “angels”, by removing the tag, buying a gift and bringing it back to the Christmas tree after purchase.

To learn which participating shopping mall is nearest to you, click here.

Toy & Senior Drives

Help us provide gifts to those angels who were not adopted by hosting your own toy or senior drive.

If you would like to host a toy or senior drive, click here.

You can also donate gifts via KHOU’s “Secret Santa” Toy Drive, benefitting The Army.

Red Kettle Campaign

Locally kicking off the day after Thanksgiving, donations made through the red kettle campaign helps us provide services in the greater Houston area all year round.

If you would like to volunteer your time as a bell ringer, please contact the Corps Community Center closest to you.
