The Salvation Army of Greater Houston 120th Anniversary Art Contest

The Salvation Army of Greater Houston is proud to announce it is now accepting entries for its 120th Anniversary Art Contest. 
The art contest is open to all students levels K-12.

School District students from Harris and surrounding counties will be entering to win a chance for their art works to be displayed in the Central Library in Downtown Houston as part of an exhibit in commemoration of The Salvation Army’s 120 years in Houston. All students will receive acknowledgements for their participation, and all first, second and third place winners will receive a trophy, a certificate of appreciation, and their art works will be displayed at the Central Library. The winners will also be invited to participate in a special awards ceremony during “National Salvation Army Week” May 11 - 16, 2009.

Guidelines and Rules

· Art works should preferably contain The Salvation Army logo (below), the number 120, and the word
Houston (or an obvious reference to the City of Houston).

· Submit interest entry by no later than Tuesday, March 31, 2009

· Submit 8 1/2 by 11 inch art work, along with final submission entry form by and no later than
Thursday, April 30, 2009

· Plan to attend a special Awards Ceremony during “National Salvation Army Week” (May 11-16, 2009) if their entries are selected for first, second or third place.
